Blog meet FB & Twitter

July 27th, 2009

Since Cannes, I’ve been caught up in a whirlwind of activities, all which proved to be very pleasurable. I went to Rotterdam to do the publicity for the Rutger Hauer Filmfactory, and then I was in LA for Doris Yeung’s impressive feature debut Motherland. Now I’m back in Brooklyn, gearing up for Toronto.

I’ve tried updating this blog regularly, but now that Rutger and Doris got me FB’ing and Twittering, I might as well surrender. So blog-readers, please check out my Facebook and Twitter accounts for my most recent news. And of course, all my latest publicity projects can be found on Silversalt PR.

Silversalt PR is very excited to be going to Cannes with ALTIPLANO, a Belgian film by Peter Brosens & Jessica Woodworth. The film, a lyrical tragedy about three souls intersecting on Peru’s high plains, stars the Peruvian actress Magaly Solier whose previous film La teta asustada won a Golden Bear in Berlin last February. ALTIPLANO is competing in the Critics’ Week section.

Newsmakers @ Tribeca, Living La Vida Yoga

April 11th, 2009

With the Tribeca Film Festival around the corner, Silversalt PR is working at full speed on the publicity of Newsmakers, a Russian/Swedish remake of the Johnnie To film Breaking News. It’s an action thriller about media manipulation by the Moscow police. It’s fun to work on a genre film, which in the US is not as frowned upon by the press as in Europe, where arthouse is king. Speaking of which, Cannes is around the corner too and I’m getting ready to buy a French SIM card.

What with all that festival frenzy it’s important to relax too. Right now, I’m only do a bit of yoga at home with the help of some DVD’s and my cat Pushkin who likes to walk underneath me when I’m doing the downward dog. But for inspiration I head over to Stacie Stukin’s informative blog L.A. Mandala - Living La Vida Yoga.

In my youth, Dutch-ness was sort of a prickly virtue to us and an occasion for dull mockery to others. _______Gore Vidal: 1876
