“Save the tacos!” I wrote in June last year. The Central American food vendors near the Red Hook soccer field were threatened with extinction by the NY Department of Parks. Much protest ensued, including from us. Now we are happy to see our local real estate blog Curbed report that they can stay for at least six years. Yaaay!!
With our pending move to Prospect Heights remaining undetermined, I went to Europe for a month to attend the Rotterdam and Berlin film festivals. Click here to read my festival round-up of Rotterdam on Kamera.co.uk’s website. In Berlin, I was mainly busy for Silversalt PR, working with Nanni Moretti, Valeria Golino and getting the Dutch film Dunya & Desie a review in the international trade magazine Variety among other equally important duties, such as hunting for Weleda shampoo and handmade felt slippers in the Torstrasse.
In my youth, Dutch-ness was sort of a prickly virtue to us and an occasion for dull mockery to others. _______Gore Vidal: 1876
